TL;DR: As our first marketing hire, you’ll own Jawa’s growth, customer acquisition, and retention strategy by endlessly testing and improving tactics across paid and organic channels.
We are the community-driven marketplace for gamers. We are on the path to become THE destination for gamers to buy and sell their gear at fair prices, and are focused on giving helping resellers, custom PC builders, and gaming crafters a place to set up shop.
Jawa launched last August and has been growing like crazy. We’ve just raised our seed round and are hiring an ambitious Head of Growth to help us build a dominant gaming hardware marketplace.
Growth Planning + Strategic Direction
We want Jawa to be a household name for gamers and need your help getting there. Develop a strategic and tactical plan to grow our marketplace buyers and sellers, and retain and engage our community across paid and organic channels
Help execute these plans, rolling up your sleeves to actually build Facebook ads, create Google campaigns, run a Discord event, or post a TikTok. You may not be perfect, but you know enough that you can help get things going
Unlock and grow new channels through experimentation; develop frameworks for rapid experimentation that optimizes our growth channels and campaigns
Lead influencer and affiliate marketing strategy
Develop lifecycle marketing email campaigns using Klaviyo
Execution + Reporting
Tactically manage the implementation and execution of marketing campaigns or growth experiments across channels
Source and manage relationships with outsourced agencies where applicable
Oversee all marketing collateral and content development, including managing our content calendar and all aspects of execution. Source and edit UGC from the community, and manage relationships with design contractors
Develop clear and detailed reporting for marketing spend and relevant growth metrics to help understand successes, learning, and trends
The ideal candidate has experience using data to help make strategic business decisions and has worked at a startup in a hands-on role in marketing, managing social spend, working on organic outreach and reporting on KPIs. Specifically, we’re looking for:
4-7 years of experience in growth marketing, preferably at a high-growth startup
Quantitative orientation with a love of research and analysis
Strong experience on campaign execution and marketing analytics across email marketing, conversion rate optimization, direct mail, paid media, sponsorships, and more
Has actively managed marketing campaigns on Facebook/Instagram previously
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with remote teams
It’d be great if you were located near the CEO in Boulder, but we’re a fully remote company.
To succeed, you need to be interested in gaming and marketplaces. We don’t expect you to be a professional PC builder or esports competitor, but we’re here to help our community scale up their business and you’ll need to be able to understand their needs.
